Ravik’s Spin Command Balls are unquestionably the first investment I’d make if I was starting a pitch design program from scratch. Nothing else provides such immediate external feedback on the ideal release “feel” for multiple pitches.

From a psychological and motor-learning standpoint, there’s no better way to acquire a new skill than through this kind of instant feedback, and the way that feel transfers to a regular baseball after just a few reps is remarkable.

Our program is in the early stages of using the RAVIK spin command baseballs, and so far our guys have really enjoyed them. I am a high school baseball pitching coach and have used the Ravik balls with all levels of throwers, seeing impressive results across the board. They are easy to use and provide an instant level of feedback that no verbal cue could replace.

They have been especially helpful for my younger players, anywhere from 10 to 13 years old, who have a problem cutting the baseball and struggling to get backspin. Simply playing catch to promote better pronation and backspin gives them the feel that they had struggled to find before.

For my older, more advanced players, it has cleaned up their pitch shape immensely. This spring, we will be implementing the use of the Ravik balls across all levels at Legend High School, and am excited for the feedback and results that will come from it.

Integrating Ravik Spin Command baseballs into our daily routine has been transformational for our pitching staff. After completing catch play, each athlete focuses intentionally on a specific pitch often one they are currently developing or struggling to command. For example, if a pitcher is working on staying behind the baseball on their fastball, they alternate three throws with the Ravik ball followed by three throws with a standard baseball. This sequence creates an immediate feedback loop that helps athletes connect feel to ball flight and transfer those adjustments directly into their normal throwing.

This process has elevated the level of communication within our program. Athletes engage in purposeful conversations with themselves, their partners, and coaches about what they’re feeling and seeing on each throw. On certain days, the entire staff may work on the same pitch type, such as a changeup, allowing us to build a unified developmental focus across the program.

Since implementing this routine, we’ve seen a measurable increase in attention, accountability, and intent during catch play. The Ravik Spin Command baseballs have helped our athletes take greater ownership of their work, understand how adjustments translate to the mound, and approach their throwing with a clearer sense of purpose. It has become an essential part of our daily training environment and a valuable tool in our overall pitch development system.
